Sonja designed and specified the  planting schemes for the portfolio of restaurants belonging to the Ivy Group, the UK restaurant chain. This design is for the group’s Chichester restaurant – a Georgian building with an Art Deco interior.

Sonja’s design was sensitive to the history of the building and its interior but made a creative statement at the same time. The scheme featured antique elements such as planters and urns, which nodded to the restaurant’s architectural heritage while adding a touch of eccentricity.

She also used planting to add structure to the designs, such as the cluster of medium-sized tree in the centre island under the sky light of the Chichester Ivy. The trees added height and a focal point to the space and thus created a more intimate atmosphere – one in which the trees interplay with the light from above.
